Tour Description

Designed for lovers of good food and wine, this spectacular day tour explores the fabulous local produce of Bruny Island, against a backdrop of spectacular scenery.

Begin your adventure by departing Hobart around 7:45 am, from either your CBD accommodation or from Hobart’s Franklin Wharf.

You will arrive at Kettering for a ferry across to Bruny Island. Joined by a sandy isthmus, North and South Bruny Islands sport long beaches, rugged cliffs of dolerite and a wonderful selection of gourmet local produce, including oysters, cheese, honey and wine. In small groups of up to 18 people, led by a local guide, you will meet a variety of local producers from cheese makers, beekeepers, and oyster farmers, to whiskey distillers, who will regale you with stories of the Island, its produce production and the growth of the food industry.

Amid the magnificent birdlife of the Island with its light bush, rare white wallabies can sometimes be seen among the diverse wildlife endemic to the region. In this divine setting, with a backdrop of deserted beaches, you will enjoy seven courses of specially produced fare, which highlights the region's best. Produce from the Bruny Island Cheese Co, Bruny Island Premium Wines, Get Shucked Oysters, Bruny Island Chocolate Company, Bruny Island Honey, Bruny Island House of Whisky and morning tea at our beachside cafe are all on offer.
