Tour Description
Experience an authentic taste of the country in the Clare Valley wine producing region and discover Mintaro – the beautiful and lovingly restored quaint heritage village that is set amongst the vineyards and farmlands.
• Enjoy a sumptuous meal and a glass of wine over lunch at any venue you wish
• Travel in a fun-filled atmosphere with great company and your friendly driver guide
• Pick and visit the winery of your choice
• Visit the magnificent region of Mintaro
You’ll start this amazing day from Glenelg or Adelaide accommodations, with pick-ups beginning at around 8am in Glenelg and a little later in Adelaide. With your professional driver/guide, you’ll travel one hour and forty minutes north to the Clare Valley – one of Australia’s smaller (but still a leader in its field) wine regions. Shiraz and Riesling are the main varieties produced in this area.
Be pampered for a full day with your very own personal wine guide and taste the delicious food and wine of the Clare Valley region at a large selection of boutique wineries. On this special tour, you will get to pick and choose the wineries that you and your intrepid travellers would prefer to visit – or alternatively, you can leave it up to your very knowledgeable driver to pick for you. The number of wineries you will be able to visit is limited to how long you are in each boutique cellar door.
While travelling through this magnificent region, you’ll visit Mintaro – a unique and largely untouched historic town that’s thoroughly charming and features some of the most captivating and significant 19th century ruins and buildings in the state of South Australia. As you stroll around this lovely little town, you’ll see buildings, paving, tanks, wash troughs and chimneys, all made from the high quality slate that has been sourced locally since 1854, from one of the oldest quarries in Australia.
Together with the magnificent walking trails, fantastic boutique wineries, art galleries and gourmet eateries, Mintaro is understandably one of the region’s most picturesque and captivating destinations. This full day tour provides everything you need for an excellent day out. All tasting and entrance fees, the undivided attention of a personal wine guide, refreshments during the day and a delicious lunch of fresh gourmet regional food and wine will be waiting for you at one of the local winery restaurants. With ample time for terrific photo opportunities along the way, you can create many hours of magical memories.
After an absolutely superb day of indulgence you’ll arrive back in Adelade/Glenelg at around 5.30 pm, upon which time, you’ll be dropped off at your original pickup location.
